Mirissa is the Lankan village of A la Giano Benaulim, but more compact with one expensive. The village is a beach that replenishes the first row of guesthouses and hotels smoothly flowing into private houses, then the road, and then at the expensive, completely budget housing, where surfers will be treated. Among this, several restaurants were launched. Most of them are located along the main street, Matara Road. (about 200 meters from Matara Road, 20 meters east of Riverside Cabanas and Extremehost Guest House Mirissa)One of the most popular restaurants in the city is at the same time and one of the cheapest. It is located on a quiet street among greens. This is a very pleasant mouth-shop, a sort of "homemade" cafe, in which you do not feel like a client - there is a stable feeling that you have dinner with friends in the country. It's very comfortable here, the atmosphere is friendly, the food is delicious.
What to try? Roti (such), fruits, cervicals, branded desserts. Rice with fish curry and shrimp in spicy sauce are much cheaper than on the beach. For example, you can eat "from the pose" of only 1000 rupees together. That is, prices are low (only juices are expensive), and at the same time the maintenance is excellent.
"Pizzeria My Way"
(Sunanda Road, 41, with Hotel Calm Rest Guest House)If you suddenly, the Lankan cuisine has already managed to get bored, then go for a variety to this pizzeria (where, of course, they are preparing not only pizza, and, for example, spaghetti, pancany or chocolate pancakes and much more). But special attention, of course, pizza - on a thin perfectly roasted test, melting in the mouth - just class!
This is a real Italian pizza, very tasty and satisfying - on Sri Lanka, a similar rarity. It feels that employees really bother with search for dishes. All delicious, prepare quickly (which is also rare for this country!). Talk in Russian, Italian, English. There is a warm atmosphere, and employees are true professionals. The place is simple (do not expect something gorgeous), but very clean. Plus interesting music with background and good selection of lemonade. And with all this prices are quite low!
"Little Tuna"
(Udupila Road, next to Dewmini Roti Shop)This is an Asian cuisine restaurant where you can enjoy - oh, yes! - Rors and sushi. A very pretty restaurant in a quiet location is not on the coast, with friendly staff. The place is hidden from the crowd, but, starting from a certain moment, signs of navigation to this restaurant appear at the intersections, so that it will be easy to find it.
Inside neatly and quite clean. Prices, however, a little higher than an average on Sri Lanka, besides, do not forget that the hotel is not beach. For example, a snack for two (2 servings of rolls, salad and 2 juice) costs about 2300-2500 rupees. But hospitality, an interesting interior and tasty food are worth the tools, definitely. In addition, you will not sit on a hot beach, but in the Green Garden. In addition, there are excellent homemade desserts in the menu, good coffee and other dishes.
"Dimali Inn"
(138/1, Galle Road, across the road from the post office)Small snack bar along the road. Here they are preparing a delicious homemade food, a stunning curry with squid, Toms with huge shrimp and delicious herbs and much more.
Friendly shop is ready to tell everything, show (even the backyard, where it grows herbs for cooking). Prices, of course, could be lower (Tom about 900 rupees, grilled shrimps - Already 1600 rupees). Yes, and on the view of the cafe is very modest - do not be afraid: four tables under the iron canopy, with fans (which in the peak of heat do not help). It is worth considering the fact that the menu may not be half of its positions and therefore do not choose.
You can say something like "I'll cook something now and you will like." And I like it! True, if you have already firmly tuned to some kind of definite dish and do not like surprises, then you are not here. The restaurant is not in the center of Mirissa, but it is definitely worth come to at least once.
"BARISTA LAVAZZA"
(Matara-RD, near the Gasthaus Way Side Guest and the GEMS and Jewelery store)Perhaps this is the only place in Mirissa with normal delicious coffee. In general, it is rather a cafe than a restaurant. In the menu - the usual European cakes (Browni, Cheesecakes, etc.), as well as disadvantaged - Panini, Burgers.
The cafe is quite clean, carefully, air conditioning works, an excellent Wi-Fi signal. A sort of sip of civilization. Yes, and restaurant workers make a friendly. Perhaps, for such a volume of such a price in the whole Sri Lanka you will not find! In general, the food here is mostly local. Prepare delicious and not expensive. Portions are big enough for two. The old people are tasty and inexpensively prepare Rotti, noodles with seafood, offering Coconuts for 50 rupees (all visitors to the central beach run behind them here). The service fee is not included, pay it or not - decide for yourself. By the way, next to the restaurant there is a shop, which holds the owners of the restaurant, and there are some of the cheapest fruit over the whole resort, and there is no need to bargain for them. In general, this is a space-stayed breakfast / dinner or in order to drink a cocktail in a shadow hot day.
"PAPA Mango"
Cafe on the shore of the ocean with an amazingly beautiful and well-groomed territory. Tables are standing in a shadow palm, there are sun beds with soft mattresses, shower, changing cabins, Wi-Fi. That is, you can sunbathe, and drink cocktails, and dine. Oh yes, excellent fruit fruits and Milkcheki (especially manga, naturally). There is also food. You can come here for dinner - extremely romantic (candles on tables - beauty!).
