Dicwell (Dickwella / Dikwella / or sometimes Dikwella South) is a small coastal city in the Matara district, which in turn is part of the southern province. Dicwell is located 22 km east of the city of Matara, the District Administrative Center. The town in itself is nothing noticeable, besides, it is one of the smallest cities of Matara - its total area of only 51 sq. Km, and there are about 55 thousand people here.
