Farm Turtles (Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project)

Of course, the place is super-interesting, and also useful, in particular, for children. By the way, the turtles on this farm are given to hold on their hands - an amazing feeling! The entrance ticket costs approximately 500 rupees per person. Near the center there is a small souvenir shop. The farm is a 15-minute drive along the coast to the north, in Kostya.Lake Madamp
Lake Madamp is 10 minutes south of Balapitia. Lake Madamp and Lake Madugang - Gemini Lake, and they are connected by a narrow channel of 3 kilometers long. The surface area of Madamepa is 390 hectares (almost three times less than the area of Lake Maduganga). This lake also offers some of the most picturesque landscapes in Sri Lanka. In this lake there are also many invertebrates, reptiles, including snakes, birds (total, 111 species!), Amphibians, mammals, many of which are on the verge of extinction. Museum of Masks Ariyapala & Sons
The museum is located in a small town (or, rather, the village) called Ambalangoda, which is about 7-8 minutes by south from the center of Balapite. The center of traditional art and crafts, a museum complex with a shop and a small library, where more than 200 samples of traditional masks used in ritual dancing by local residents are exhibited. Each mask is truly unique and expresses different emotions. And in a small workshop, at the museum, you can watch the process of making masks - from a piece of wood to the last stage. The museum is very interesting and informative, the masks are beautiful and intricately cut, the staff is ready to offer a short excursion and / or answer any questions you want to ask. I thought the staff was very friendly and helpful. Prices in the souvenir shop are quite reasonable - although, of course, these are not keyring and not beads. This is, by the way, one of the main souvenirs from Sri Lanka, and have to lay out a little more money for such a present.
Temples
There are many temples throughout Sri Lanka, that's our city is no exception. For example, you can walk before Temple pathchiraja Mantchindharama (Pathiraja Manthindharamaya).
