It so happened that the first city I visited in Israel was precisely Ashdod. And did not regret, he really is to come to him.
Ashdod is a small sea town, considered one of the cheapest in Israel, in which by the end of his trip I was convinced. We arrived with my sister and settled on a removable one-room apartment pre-planned on the Internet. This option seemed to us more successful than to split at the hotel.
Slowing things, immediately went to study the city. What struck me is the number of yachts on the pier. If you want to want, and we really wanted, you can, having agreed with the owner of the yacht, for a reasonable fee, get a tour of the sea.
In Ashdod, very clean beaches. The garbage is there anywhere else, nor in water, nor in the sand. Since we arrived in the fall, people were not very much, but even in the evening it was possible to catch noisy companies by the sea.
Despite September, the sea was warm, but restless. There were days when I did not risen to go swim, because the wave could easily cover with my head even where it would seem very finely.
But on the days, when there was a strong wind, everyone could have surfing.
In the town there is something to see. When it was born on the beach, I walked along the ruins of the sea fortresses or just collected shells along the shore. By the way, they are unusual here, such will not meet anymore in any resort.
What rushes in the eye - the focus of the town on tourists with children. Many parks, playgrounds, adapted transport, food. In shopping centers, you can easily see the playgrounds for children.
Separately, I want to dwell on food. Cafe is very expensive in the cafe. For the sake of interest, you can go a couple of times that we and my sister did, but the rest of the time they prepared themselves. Products are inexpensive, especially fruits, many of which, by the way, can be found right on the trees.
In the second week of rest, I decided that it was time to get acquainted with the sights of the city and ordered a tour of the city. We were drilled by the most interesting facilities of the city, such as the Ashdod Museum. Corin Maman, Ashdodsky Museum of Arts "Center of the Monart" and many others. It was not just interesting, it was unforgettable.
After that, I visited an excursion at the old towns of the city.
Both excursions made an indescribable impression on me. The feeling that you have moved to the past and live yourself at the time that the guide describes.
A trip to Jerusalem I pushed it specially for the last days of rest. The buses from Ashdod there are every half an hour, so it's not difficult to get home. I did not take the excursion, in addition, if I really want, it can be ordered right in place.
For the last two days of rest, I dedicated a shopping on the central street of the city and I can say with confidence that everything is here. Especially my attention was attracted by the sale of clothing with discounts up to 90% and shops with cosmetics based on the salts of the Dead Sea and clay.
In general, Ashdod is worthy to come to him, if there really is a desire to get acquainted with the culture of Israel. He will not leave anyone indifferent, nor a child nor an adult. Residents of the city, for the most part, know Russian, so there are no problems with communication, even those who do not know Hebrew or English.
