Temple Mulkinigal

So, the temple is built on a rock height of 205 meters above sea level - 533 steps lead to his foot. The complex consists of five terraces and seven caves.
On the first terrace, Padamalwa, two caves, inside each of which is the statue of the lying Buddha (14 meters in length), cut down in a solid rock, and on the walls - bright beautiful frescoes.
On the second terrace, which is quite simply noticed, is a white stupa and a cave with a Buddha.
On the third terrace, the Royal Great Temple Terrace, four caves, the walls of which are decorated with the images of Buddha and paintings from his life, and in one of the caves, tunnel dies to the Khakmen temple. So that the royal tunnel does not climb a simple people, came up with a legend that there, they say, cobra live.
On the fourth terrace grows a tree Bo. And the fifth, the upper terrace looks pretty abandoned - the tourists here almost do not rise (because the rise is the coolest), but there is actively running monkey.
It can be said that Mulkarygala - a low-footpiece place among tourists, but, definitely, charming and even some kind of mystical. The entrance is free - come for a whole day!
Temple Vevurukanal

And here there is a huge statue of Buddha - you can see it already from afar. The territory was announced by the reserve in 1938 with the original area of 2500 hectares, but the title was filmed in 1946 due to perturbations from local residents. The territory was again painted by the reserve already in 1984, but with a significantly reduced protected area. The bird reserve includes coastal lagoons and mangroves, rich in marine inhabitants. And then there are four and endangered species of birds, among which caraway (Dark-Brown Ibis), a collaboan inheries and Ceylon jungle chicken, which dwells only on Sri Lanka (and, by the way, the national bird of the country).
Marine Fountain Humaniya

WEHERAHENA BUDDHIST TEMPLE)True, this temple is located in Matara, neighboring southern Sri Lanka province, approximately 6 kilometers from Matara and about 40 minutes from Tangalle. The temple complex, erected two centuries, is located on the territory of three hectares and is known as the first tunnel temple in the world. It is impressive by the colossal statue of the Buddha, the height of which is 38 meters. Bright temple frescoes depict the scene from the life of the Buddha, and so much so much that they completely cover the walls of the design. Entrance to the temple is free, but it is customary to leave donations - for example, about 200 rupees. Why did the temple built underground? The sacred prayers of Portuguese rulers were held secretly. The huge statue was erected in 1990: the Buddha here is depicted in bright clothes sitting in a lotus position. Next to the temple you can see two beautiful ponds in the middle of the courtyard. Take a visit to the temple at least two hours - it is very interesting, and there is a lot of tourists.
Plain of Ussangoda
(Usangoda)Plain borders with the coast and jungle. The coastal zone is an ideal place for loving landscaped beauty. Obviously, the land of this plain is rich in minerals, like nickel, so the plain is slightly similar to the surface of Mars. The grass and mossight grows on the plain, occasionally dwarf trees, and translucent naked plots of land - red. Surprisingly, of course! Archaeologists are confident that it was here that the first ancient people of Sri Lanka lived. The place is at half an hour to east of the city.
