In one beautiful November morning I woke up, looked out the window and decided - enough, it's time to south. And so, my family flies to the Maldives, in Male Atoll. When for the first time you fly here, you don't believe your eyes first. This is really paradise. Good and cheerful locals, the very good white sand, which even in the heat remains almost cold, palm trees, flowers. On the latter I want to stop more. Going to the Maldives, I thought that in addition to Palms, I would no longer see anything from the vegetation, but here such a beauty.
Entertainment on the island is not particularly much, except for the hotel there were surfing lessons and diving. If the first can still be ignored, then you will definitely need a diving here. While I took the camera, then scared almost all the fish around myself, but one still remained.
As for excursions, they are pretty primitive, most of them are aimed at familiarizing tourists with a local infrastructure and glowing money in stores. Either just for passive rest in the form of observation of skates or dolphins from the boat. But it is stupid for excursions to go to the Maldives.
We are located in a house with access to the garden, and not to the beach, so our neighbors had most local animals and insects, in particular, this lizard.
In the very sea, you can even meet little sharks, up to half a length, though, many say that they saw sharks and more, to a meter.
The sea in Male Atoll is very clean and calm almost everywhere. In addition, it is also pretty small, which personally for me was not a disadvantage.
From shortcomings - prices. Expensive here everything, ranging from eating and ending with things. The only thing you can buy - jewels for which the price is surprisingly cheap.
We, on the advice of the tour operator, took a tour with a three-time food included in the price and did not regret. The quality of food in restaurants is no better than the hotel, but at the same time, the portions are much smaller. Prices in restaurants here are quite high, in my opinion, overestimated. However, at least once, it is worth going to the local restaurant, unambiguously. At least in order to try delicious desserts and cocktails.
With that in Male Atoll, and everywhere in Maldives bad - alcohol. It is quite expensive, sold not everywhere. But, in my opinion, this is a dignity than the disadvantage. In such a climate, alcohol is not the best undertaking.
In the city, most people go straight barefoot, but I went to rubber slippers in rubber slippers. Outside the beach is best to dress more more, otherwise the locals will disapprovingly mow. If you go through all the fractions of decency, can and remark.
Separately, it is worth saying about the rooms in local hotels. Here - how lucky. Our neighbors in the next room did not work air conditioning, we could turn on it yourself or generally switch to the flow of hot air. The rest is quite decent, and even consisted that we are not sitting here in the room.
Once all the trip on the island was raining, more precisely, a 10-minute shower, but as soon as he ended, the sun came out, and there was such a beautiful rainbow.
In conclusion, I can say that Male Atoll, with all its disadvantages in the form of old plumbing and technology in the hotel, expensive prices, really paradise. The place where, it seems that there are only you, palm trees, the sea and the beach.
