How to get to Narathivat:
By plane
To begin with, the province has its own airport (NAW). So far, it serves Thai Airasia and Thai Smile airlines flying flights from Bangkok. On the ground floor of the airport there is a restaurant and a souvenir shop, as well as an ATM; In front of the terminal - parking. Everything is as usual, in short, a small provincial aircraft.
Naturally, you will have to fly with transfers, if not with two - what to do! The airport is approximately 15 kilometers north of the city, not far from the Swabhorun military base. From the airport, so far it is impossible to get on public buses, but you can jump onto a gray minibus, next to the districts of Muang Narathivat for about 80 baht, in Tank Bai for 180 baht and Su-Ngai ling for 200 baht.
By train
Su-Ngay Rod in the province of Narathivat, located right near the border with Malaysia, or rather, with the Kelantan State (Capital of the state - the city of Kota-Baru) is the southernmost and end station of the Long Railway route Bangkok - Su-Ngai Rod. Several trains go daily on this route. Those who want to visit Narathivat City can land at this station, and if you want to get out early, remember that, in the absence of public transport in the province, traveling from small stations to Narathivat is quite problematic. The best to get away from this train at Tanyong Mat station - from there (from car parking) to the city there are regular Songtheva. It often happens that the train, the following south of Khatyaya (that is, in Narathivat), are canceled, although the situation was much worse after terrorist acts in the provinces, which happened several years ago - today to get to the city by train easier.
By bus
To / from Bangkok: Buses with air conditioning of The Transport Co. We run between the Bangkok South Bus Station (Sai-Tai) and the Narathivat Bus Station daily. The distance is about 1,160 kilometers, the path usually takes about 14 hours. The fare on VIP-buses (Piset) on 24 places costs about 1300 baht - they tend to go from Bangkok around 5 pm (and at 12:30 back). Travel by bus to 50 seconds of the second class costs about 700 baht - they leave Bangkok at 15:30 and at 12:45 pm from Narathivat back. Specify the schedule in advance!
On minivan
There are regular minibuses between Su-Ngai / Hatyazham / Yala / Pattani and a new Narathivat bus station, located on the outskirts of the city, about 500 meters from the hospital, on the left side of the road. Ticket prices - from 80 baht from Su-Ngai-flashes and from 170 baht from Khatyaya.
How to move around the city and province
Well, interesting in the city is not so much, because the city is small - it is easy to get around on foot. But in the province itself there are some attractions - they are usually located a few kilometers from the city, so transport is needed. You can use the services of a Moto Taxi to ride around the city (it costs about 10-20 baht). You can rent a bike approximately 50 baht per day (you can travel on the province - the most interesting places are a maximum of 20 kilometers from the city, which is not so scary for an experienced athlete).
The rental of motorcycles in the province is not yet available. At Songtheva, you can get along a picturesque route to Tank Bai (the driver collects passengers at a distance from Monument-Squa to the palace of Ratchanive or entrance to the National Park of JSC Manao).
New air-conditioned buses can take you from the city station to Narathata (located closest to the city) about 10 baht.
