Bang Thao (AO Bang Thao), also known as Bang Tao and Laguna Beach, is the beach on the northwestern side of Phuket Island, located in a large open bay. You are quite simple to get here - less than half an hour from Phuket Airport. And Bang Tao is one of the longest beaches of Phuket (11 kilometers). Once a tin was produced here, but more recently, Bang Tao is just a chic resort. Most of the beach is part of the Angsana Laguna Phuket complex, a massive hotel with more than 400 rooms and with a golf course. However, there are accommodation options and not only in the lagoon, but at the southern end of the bay.
Bang Tao is a wonderful nature, and the north end of the bay is a separate small bay, almost completely closed, with small coral places. It is best to come here in the dry season when the sea is calm and the most clean, as in off-Sizen and the beach, and coastal waters are full of garbage. In the central part of the beach you can get through the Laguna complex. The beach is calm, with a good sunset, with gentle almost white sand, almost deserted, with free parking. With infrastructure on Bang Tao, there is a lot of restaurants and other tourist sites in the Laguna complex and in the nearby city of Chong-Thhala.
In short, Bang Tao is all for a complete relax. Laguna complex is pools, bars, spa centers, private beaches with sun loungers and towels. There are many shops in the lagoon complex, but they are all expensive, and in other places of Thailand you can find much more favorable offers. Nightlife is not bad here, although it is impossible to compare this part of the island with Patong. If you want to break yourself away or buy something like that, then it is better to catch a taxi and get to Patong (the path will take 20 minutes). Bang Tao is an excellent place of rest, perhaps, for any category of tourists.
