Do not drive the car to Milan, it is better to call in Bergamo!
Bergamo is just 50 km from the large nodal point - Milan. Through Milan, there are roads to the coast, on Genoa and Savona. I would advise you to stop not in Milan, but in Bergamo and spend on him another day. And Bergamo is easier to call and leave, there is lower than the price and therefore the shopping is better, and the city is incomparably more interesting to Milano (although less unwound). In addition, Bergamo lies along the way if you intend to get to Venice.
If you travel the car, then you get there through one of the passes: from Austria, through Switzerland usually through San Bernard, and from Germany or France, too, through Switzerland through San Gothard. If you are traveling in the summer, I would advise you to put a pass on the Naviator of San Gotard Pass and ride not through the tunnel, but directly through the pass.
When leaving Germany, there are 2 routes: spend the night or on triburgian waterfall or on Lake Titisa or in Constanta (there prices are higher, but you can see the Island of Mainau or to twist the lake with the car ferry, but also Konstanz himself), go through Zurich and Lucerne. A short route is overnight stay in Freiburg and straight through Basel to Lucerne. For Lucerne - Pass. You can still brake on the way to Pass in Andermatte (even spending the night) and look at the monument to Suvorov (the transition of Suvorov through the Alps).
