Batumi met us in mid-May with open arms: warm weather, a small number of tourists, good people and delicious food.
Immediately I will say that we went in Georgia, it was advisable, I was going for a long time, chose the city and eventually stopped on it. We wanted to go by car, but turned up the sale of tickets and the alternative was disappeared. So the road was not exhausting, which makes a dear plus to this journey.
The hotel also booked in advance. Stayed in Sheraton, it happened that the apartments fell on the 17th floor, and I am grateful to the administration for it! View of the city in the rays of the setting sun is unforgettable. May in Batumi is still considered to be an explosion, so there were few other guests, we have almost seen anyone.
The next day we took the car to rent and went south from the city to Sarpi village, located almost at the very border with Turkey. Many where they read that the water there was much cleaner than in Batumi.
It is understandable, because in Batumi, a large port and all these sealing ships can not leave marks. Spent there for several hours: they got down home chinkale, wandered on the beach: threw pebbles, painted on black sand and eventually decided to swim in the picturesque lagoon. The sea is still not warm in May, such swims only for humored people.
Returned to the city, where I was hoping to enjoy dinner from seafood, watching the sunset over the Black Sea. The food was very tasty, the portion is huge, very by the way pleased that in many domestic restaurants there is a children's menu, food from which for young guests is provided free of charge. Present Georgian homemade wine, can slightly tighter, the sea, beloved nearby - from such romance you can go crazy.
I was really surprised by some subtropical nature and climate of this region. In my opinion, the sea and the beach are cleaner and more pleasant than in the same Turkey. And in general, the city is a solid entertainment center! Especially in the center at every step a lot of cafes, bars and clubs.
We once staged a raid on the bars and before the end of the rest alcohol did not want. Also visited the urban zoo - not the best in my century, until the Spanish zoos remain for me in the leading lists, so this circumstance disappointed a little.
We were there only 4 times and this is very little! So many attractions, and we managed to inspect only the outer architecture of the city. I miss. Batumi, I'll come back !!
