In August 2013, we went to the warm edges by car. Why Croatia? First of all, because we were never there. The second is one of the closest warm seas. Thirdly, they were heard about the beauty of this country.
Hotels and private homes in Croatia - at every step, even in season, in August, it was easy to find apartments for rent. But we chose camping: as a rule, all seaside campsites are located directly on the coast, they have their own beach. In addition, putting a tent near the sea, we fell asleep and woke up under the noise of sea waves. And the presence of a car made it easier to move around the country.
Umag - the city is small, due to the location in the north, is not such a spa, as, for example, Dubrovnik. Therefore, the local population is occupied not only in tourism, but also in agriculture, and in fisheries. The tractors with trailers are passing through the streets, to the top loaded ripe tomatoes, the network is dried directly on the embankment.
Walking along Umamu fascinating, around ancient buildings, grapes hanging from the arches, cozy parks and courtyards. Distances at the same time small, for recreation with children - the perfect option.
Sea in Croatia - all shades of blue and blue and at the same time very clean. True, the bottom is stony, but special shoes immediately forget about it. It is interesting to sneak from the mask: Of course, with the Red Sea, it is not compared, but beginners and children fascinates looking at small corals, small fish, as well as crabs of all sizes.
If desired, it is possible to get from the alga to both other seaside cities and go to the mountainous regions of Croatia, to national parks. Excellent roads, especially paid highways. Free good, but such a trip takes much longer, and the savings are obtained - 1-2 euros.
We did not get to the famous Plitvice waterfalls, because they are located in the north of the country, and this trip would take our whole day, but in the mountains, we went to the town of Motov.
From a gastronomic point of view, Croatia also pleased: the aforementioned Motovun - the truffle capital of the country, where you can and try a variety of dishes with truffles, and buy olive oil and cheese with the addition of truffles, as well as canned and fresh truffles of all varieties.
Fish and meat on the grill are presented on the coast, and Italian cuisine is not bad. And the Croatian wines we brought not only for yourself, but also as a gift to friends.
Although the weather at the end of August was not too pleased - it was cool, periodically looked rains, we remember this holiday with pleasure.
