The beach on Patong is a narrow sand band with a length of a couple of kilometers: in the left edge, the bus stop, where Sugteo is standing in Phuket-Town, and on the right - the police booth and the toilet (the only beach). The beach is not very clean, of course, do not compare with smaller orators, but you can swim. Since we were in the rainy season, we were not very lucky with the weather and concrete on the beach of Patong bathed only 3-4, plus depressing the obsessive merchants who do not leave you alone, even when you leave the sea or you are not living in the sun.
With the merchants on Patong in general trouble: wherever and wherever you go, the entire Patong is a solid market and a taxi stop. The locals offer their services and the goods are very intrusive, as in Turkey or Egypt, when there just slept a wave of Russian tourists. A few days later it begins to annoy it very much ...
But Patong has its advantages: firstly, the presence of a major supermarket is already joy, given that there are only two of them on the island and to the second, it is necessary to go about 20-30 minutes. Secondly, Patong is more or less communicated with Phuket-Tauna, unlike the northern beaches, from which you can go somewhere only by taxi or with a guided tour. Thirdly, all tourist facilities are relatively close: to the amusement park "Fantasy", where the eponymous show shows - 20 minutes, to the center of Phuket-Town - 30, several temples are 10 minutes from Patong, so you can go somewhere And on your own, without a guide.
I do not regret the trip, but the second time I will not go here. We would recommend to stop the choice on Patong, if you are active and want to get from Thailand not only beach holidays, but also night entertainment or cultural program.
