Still at school in the World History lessons, when we passed the topic of ancient Greece, I often imagined how to visit this country and I will see the country with a unique story, a majestic architecture and visit the native land of outstanding scientists, historians, politicians.
And the dream came true immediately after my wedding, my parents gave us a ticket for 10 days on about. Rhodes. My happiness was not the limit. Tick over another country will be delivered.
It was impossible not to fall in love with this island at a glance. Here is so beautifully intertwined history and modernity, ancient monuments and modern houses, antique fortresses and modernized buildings.
Rhodes itself is very green, despite the hot climate, the greens grow everywhere. The island is located between the two seas, which gives him even greater color and attractiveness, he is washed by the Aegean and Mediterranean Sea.
In particular, on the recommendations and proposals of the tourist operator, we visited the old fortress, Colossus Rhodes, who, if I'm not mistaken, is one of the seven wonders of the world. He left deep impressions. The height of the structure, as the guide was reported to us, a little pain of 30 meters and when it was hardly the biggest structure in the ancient world.
Regarding the life and accommodation in Rhodes, we also were satisfied with this. The hotel caught us cozy, calm, the staff is polite. The rooms are comfortable, there are not much space as in the apartment, however, as the hotel is 3 *, we did not expect more. Hair dryer, small fridge, TV with local channels - everything worked. Nutrition Truth led, maybe we were picky, but on the third day the food is tired (it was enough, but each time the same thing).
They were rescued with adjacent cafes and restaurants, or arranged romantic sites on the balcony. Immediately I note that prices are not small here, so as we were a young family, did not allow themselves to visit them often, saved. It was not far to the sea, 10-15 minutes.
I will say right away that Greece is a paradise for lovers not only a good rest, but also for connoisseurs of ancient history, traditions, art. At least once to visit everyone here!
