After brixurna marches in blogs and all of the Internet about how "everything is lost" and how everyone goes from Thailand to their homeland, because they say a crisis and everything is very expensive, I think it will not be superfluous to write about the freshest impressions (January-February 2015), with Detailed prices for food and drinks (in some way with a detailed description of the menu).
What has changed in Phuket for almost a year we missed?
Almost nothing. The rate of Bat has changed against the ruble (1 = 1.7), but personally is not so critical for us to change their plans for rest, especially since we have been postponed enough.
On the beaches now there is no possibility to use a stationary sun bed or an umbrella (100-200 baht cost before), they were banned (the struggle of the kingdom for the "virgin" view of the environment). As a result, it turned out that: vacationers carry their own, diverse, umbrellas, and are located where they like it, and not by 10% of the beach allocated "under umbrellas".
Honestly, I can't say that it became much better and more beautiful from it. Those who leased sun beds and umbrellas, badly cleaned the beaches. Now it was not so clean on the beach (Kata, Karon) ... We took with them a garbage package for themselves and for "that guy."
At the time of our stay, the question was actively discussed that smoking and food will be prohibited on the beach (while we were no specifics and did not appear).
The reason for our "pause" was the appearance of a baby. Small children feel great in warm countries, but the flight from Moscow is long and it was necessary to wait for that solid "age," when in our opinion it will be forces for the child. After careful preparation for the trip (mainly it concerned the bureaucracy with children's documents and finding favorable tickets) a completely natural result was the appearance in the aircraft porthole of the aircraft of one Russian company (for only a direct flight was needed) of Phuket's beloved beauties)
So, in the given tasks: how and how much, you can eat on Phuket by three adults and two children - a two-year-old and eight-month-old baby?
We flew for two months, filmed housing near Kata Beach already on arrival (two nights at the hotel during the search for a suitable house). One condition was the presence of a kitchen and all necessary for cooking. This does not mean that we eased exclusively at home. There were cafes and restaurants and snacks on the beach, but, of course, most of the breakfasts and dinners were prepared independently.
To buy products, you can go to any of the supermarkets, but we also liked Tesco Lotus more of the past trips, respectively, we bought most of the provisions.

Baby food is more expensive than in the Russian Federation, milk mixtures a lot, the puree selection is small, we bought a little (the child was actively eating breast milk and "home" purees).
To get to the supermarket is easy, there are already a lot of transport and features, we, as before, have not changed their preferences - Motobike is the most convenient option for us. For the overwhelming majority of local residents also:
Immediately I will add that the children on the motorbike trips did not participate, they guarded the grandmother and entertained the parents for the products and other vital things) here it is worth mentioning that a taxi for movement around the city is with children's car seats, for hiking we have with me were strollers.
Exemplary menu of adults : breakfast - omelet, salad, ham, fruit, toasts - about 300 baht (remind you that the portion is calculated for 3 adults and two children); Lunch - soup with meatballs (pork) - about 300 baht; Dinner is a vegetable stew with chicken (about 200 baht). Throughout the day on the snack fruit, cookies, juices, etc. This does not mean that such a menu has been everyday and we did not go anywhere to dine or dinner, it's just an example of how much "independent" food will cost. Of course, such a way is cheaper. In addition, it is an opportunity to adapt the children painlessly to the appearance of "new" foods in the menu: on the background of the familiar "home" was imperceptibly introduced (and with great pleasure eaten) local deliciousness.
I hope for someone our experience "in numbers" will be useful. Once again I urge it closely to the fact that all the prices are - this is, what we personally have faced, however, in the kingdom there is no custom, fix prices and it is possible that other price tags will meet you.
Taking into account all changes, all the advantages and disadvantages, for our family Phuket and remained a great place to relax. There is something that grieves, there are pleasant changes. We do not support the idea of "disarmament" by the beaches from the umbrellas, "virgin" beaches are available in a large assortment on the nearby islands, and the problem of the lack of shelter from the Sun is very acute (on the caron one and a half palm trees and mountains of garbage).
