As you probably know, the vast majority of Phuket hotels does not work on the "All Inclusive" system - Breakfast is included in the cost of living, and the place for lunch and dinners are selected independently.
First of all, I would like to note that there are quite a lot of cafes in the caron, which are offered by the most different cuisine - during our stay there we have seen countless cafes with Thai cuisine, Italian establishments, fast food (mostly American cuisine), several cafes, Offering Indian cuisine, a couple of Russians, etc.
Thai cuisine
Since we wanted to get acquainted with your local meal, then we paid the most attention to the institutions offering Thai cuisine. Most often we went to the cafe Kata Food. which was directly opposite our hotel (Diamond Cottage Resort and Spa). Although it was called Kata Food, but was actually on the caron, like our hotel. In general, the impressions of this place we have positive. Of the advantages - a large menu in which Thai food prevails (a wide range of salads, soups, the second is mainly fish, seafood, rice and noodle dishes, a variety of fresh juices and desserts), fast service (we were there at least 6- 7 times and in all this time we never had to wait for a meal longer than 15 minutes), clean tables and pretty quiet music.
From food, I would particularly single out rice with seafood, baked in pineapple - very tasty, shrimp and squid are very successful with pineapple, and it looks quite unusual - the rice is served inside the half of the pineapple. I would also recommend paying attention to the fish - it is fresh and very tasty, you can choose that fish yourself, which is prepared for you. We also tried a steak from shark, we didn't like it very much, meat is harsh, perhaps, this is a dish on an amateur. From drinks, we loved fresh juices, especially watermelon and pineapple. Alcohol we didn't drink much, but there was a number of cocktails (mostly standard - mojito, daiquiri, margarita, etc.), beer and other spirits. As for the prices - in my opinion, it was an institution with average prices. The price of a dish started from 100 - 150 baht (for this amount you could, for example, get rice with shrimps or some simple salad), on average one dish cost 200-300 baht. For dinner for two with two hot, salad, drinks (freshly squeezed juices), we were 1000 - 1200 baht. The tea was left 20, a maximum of 40 baht, the waiter was pleased. In the cafe there is a menu in Russian, the translation, of course, often leaves much to be desired, but in principle everything is clear. All dishes go under the numbers, so the waiter just records the number and then it looks that you have chosen. In general, Kata Food is a good place where you can get acquainted with Thai cuisine.
Still from the institutions of Thai cuisine we visited Dino Park. - Restaurant, which is located on the territory of the Mini Golf Park. Of the advantages of this place, I can note the unusual situation and the atmosphere - according to the writer of the author, the visitor as it should be in the park of the Jurassic period, all tables are in the depths of the jungle, and the nature and sounds of the lost world surrounds you. In principle, all this is quite funny, we liked the idea and idea - very unusual. Thai kitchen, the main emphasis is made on seafood. Kitchen, I would describe how the average - not bad, but, in my opinion, a little worse than in Kata Food, despite the price higher (apparently, surcharge for the atmosphere). They are not very fast, the truth of justice for the sake of notice that there were a lot of visitors at that evening. So, my verdict - you can go from curiosity. By the way, if you arrived with children, then they will probably like this place - they will be able to imagine that they dine in the present forest with dinosaurs.
And finally, the last restaurant of Thai cuisine in the caron, which we visited - this Two Chefs. (By the way, he also was not far from our hotel). The advantages will take delicious food, very attentive service, large portions (some dishes are better to take two). Price averages, approximately at the same level as in Kata Food. Of the minuses - loud live music was very often played in this institution, for someone it is probably a plus, but she was somewhat annoyed - I prefer to dine in a calmer atmosphere. If you are a lover of live music - welcome.
Indian food
During our stay on the caron, we also visited the Indian cuisine restaurant called Royal Tandoor House. . There you are waiting for Indian cuisine, richly seasoned with spices. Prices in this cafe are average, the service is not bad - everyone brings quickly, serve politely. From dishes I can mark very tasty cakes that baked right with us. Indian cuisine, as you understand, pretty specific - if you like it - it is worth paying attention to this place.Italian food
In the caron there are quite a few restaurants in Italian cuisine, which is not surprising - pizza and pasta are now popular all over the world. We visited Pizzeria Da Mario. . There we were waiting for traditional Italian pits, who was cooked in the oven, the interior, decorated in Italian style and, of course, the cook - Italian. If you are tired of Thai cuisine and would like to eat something more familiar - you can visit this pizzeria.
Shops and fruit shops
For those who would like to take food or fruits with themselves, a number of supermarkets and fruit shops opened on the road. Supermarkets are small, but everything you need there is water, juices, ice cream, cookies, crackers, candy, marmalade, cheese and so on. We bought water, cookies and ice cream to the beach, good one of the shops is literally two steps away from the beach.
Fruit shops are also found literally at every step - there you can buy mango, papaya, eye dragon, lychee, sugar apple and other exotic fruits. The price is not specified, it must be asked by the seller, he will either answer you in English, or will show the amount on the calculator. The seller can cut you fruits, but I would not advise this to do - after all, there are often cases of poisoning. That is why we soap all the fruits themselves, in the hotel.
