If your hotel is on Karon Beach, then you have chosen a very good place for a beach holiday. From most hotels in Karon, you can walk to the beach - just go through the road. Water on the caron is clean, when the calm is worth the sea - it is completely transparent when there are waves - a little matnaya. By the way, in the season (that is, from November to March), there are usually no big waves in the caron - that is, those waves that interfere with bathing. The sea is either very calm or there are small waves. On the beach, large white sand, which creaks under his feet - because of this it is also called sowing sand. There are enough people on the beach, especially in the season, but still less than on the next beach of Kata. When we rested there, we went to both the beach - there were moments on the Kate when we were hard to find a seat for a litter, while on the caron people were located at some distance from each other.
Next to the beach there are several small supermarkets - there you can buy something to the beach - water, cookies, etc.
Accommodation
There are quite a few hotels in different categories on the caron. Most of the average mid-level hotels are three - four stars (such hotels in Karon more than 70), so if you are considering a hotel of this level - you will clearly have something to choose from. Slightly less hostels and very cheap hotels (two-star) and very few luxury five-star hotels. There are also villas on the caron, but in general there are less than, for example, in the Rawai area.Food
On caron enough cafes and restaurants for every taste. Most of the institutions offer Thai cuisine, but there are a couple of Italian restaurants that specialize in pizza and paste, a restaurant of American cuisine - the main stop in the menu is made on the steaks and burgers, a couple of institutions of Indian cuisine, a Brazilian restaurant (!) Kitchen and others. There are a number of bars that specialize in both cocktails and purely alcoholic beverages. As you already understood, hungry for Karon - Beach you will definitely not stay - there are institutions for every taste and wallet - from the very cheap cafe to restaurants more recently - often they are at expensive hotels.
On the street there are also benches, where they sell fresh fruit - mango, papaya, dragon eyes, pineapples, lychee and others. Entertainment
With the entertainment in the caron, things are not as good as with a beach or food - all numerous clubs and discos are not at all there, but in the Patong district. So if you are a fan of a stormy nightlife, you should look at Patong, however, consider that the sea is much more dirty there than on the caron, but the hotels are slightly cheaper.From the entertainment in the caron there are bars, there is also a mini-golf park - Dino Park, if you are interested in this sport - be sure to go. In addition, there is a restaurant that is located as it were in the jungle is a rather interesting idea, there really is the feeling that you fell somewhere in the lost world. By the way, it is enhanced by different sounds, which seemed to be distributed from the thickets - everything is simple - microphones are hidden there. To Dino Park, from time to time, the elephant was given, which could be fed by bananas and cucumbers (there was also it possible to buy them) and take a picture with him.
Still on the caron there are massage salons - their great set, if you like the massage or you would like to know what it is - go to the massage salon and find out. The most popular types of massage are the traditional Thai massage and foot massage, but besides them, you will be offered a massage of the whole body, Aroma - massage (that is, a massage with the addition of various oils - to choose from), head massage and so on. We went to massage every other day, we really liked, and there was also what to take themselves in the evenings.
On the caron there is a number of travel agencies, including several Russian-speaking - we have seen a matryka tour and Marusya Travel (the latter is located on the outskirts of the caron, a little closer to the beach of Kata). Prices in both firms were approximately the same, a set of excursions too. Before travel agencies, it is easy to walk on foot, which is quite convenient - you can go, take a sheet with prices, ascertaining, thinking and then purchase the selected excursion. Excursions are divided into several types - marine (that is, trips to various islands), land - mostly trips to national parks, extreme - rafting, ride on jeeps, etc., various shows - from fantasy and Siam Niramit to adult show. In addition, you can offer individual excursions.
Purchases
There are no large shopping centers in Karone, unfortunately, they are completely in another part of the island. But there are many small shops that sell clothes and shoes (usually cheap and appropriate quality)
, cosmetics, drugs (including the famous tigrine balsam), as well as numerous souvenirs - magnets, circles, plates, keychains, wooden carved figures, aromatic sets, paintings and all that can be found in souvenir shops. You can bargain if you know how to do it, for sure you can significantly reduce the price.
In general, caron is suitable for less relaxing holiday - if a clean wide beach is important for you, transparent sea water, cafes and restaurants, offering different cuisine and massage salons - the rest in the caron is suitable for you as it is impossible.
Those who love nightclubs, noisy discos, as well as large shopping centers, caron will seem too quiet and boring - because there are no noisy entertainment there - for them you will have to go to another area of the island.
