What interesting places should be visited in Brugge?

Anonim

Brugge is a small town, but very rich in different kind of sights. It is more convenient to inspect them to themselves, because the city center is quite compact and to all the places you are interested in easily walking on foot.

We spent two days in Brugge and in principle examined almost everything that was of interest - there are all major sights. In my opinion, to linger there more than two to three days does not make much sense - you borrow.

Inspection Brugge we started with Main Square - The very on which is the Potfort Tower Belfort. To get to it, by the way, very simple - we arrived by train, which stopped at the central station (actually, in Brugge she is alone), from her to the square you can reach the bus, for a taxi or just walk on foot (a walk took from us from the strength 20-25 minutes), you just need to go toward the center, and then the tower itself will be visible.

The first thing I would recommend everyone who would like to get some idea about the city as a whole is Bus tour which is sent from the main square. There is a small minibus, which will ride you around the city for 50 minutes (time may increase due to traffic jams), and at this time you will listen to an excursion through headphones, which is available at eight different languages (including Russian, of course). We really liked the trip - she took a little time, but we understood where it was and met with all the main sights of the city. The excursion in Russian is quite decent, everything is clear, the voice acting is good. We rode a bus during the day, so no traffic jams were and the whole trip took 50 minutes from us, as promised. It cost that 15, or 16 euros, in my opinion, the price is quite average.

Next we went to the famous Tower Belfort which is one of the symbols of Bruges. The first tower was built in the 13th century and was used as watchdog. You can rise to the tower, with its top overlooking the entire old town. If you want to admire the views of Brugge, keep in mind that the height of the tower is 83 meters, and you will have to go on foot - no elevators in the tower, of course, no. Also note that the staircase is very narrow - while you will climb up, other visitors will descend and in some places you will be very difficult to disperse - you will have to be pressed against the walls of the tower, and they are far from sterile. That is why I would not advise to climb the tower in bright or elegant clothes - you are guaranteed to be stained it.

The entrance to the tower is not very expensive, in January 2015 the price was less than 15 euros per person. The exact cost depends on your age - there are discounts for youth to 26 years, for children under 14, as well as for pensioners from 65 years. To get a discount at the checkout, you need to make a certificate of personality, where there is a year of birth - just like you most likely no one will believe.

The tower presents a small exposure, which tells visitors about the history of the creation of this structure, and at the very top there are bells, as well as various mechanisms that can also be considered. Top view is really amazing, but all the space is tightened with a grid (apparently, for security reasons), which, of course, several spoils the view.

In general, we did not regret that they rose to the tower - she is rather curious, the view from it is really excellent.

Next, I would like to talk a little about the churches and the cathedrals of Brugge. In the city, their great many, so that the city will surely have to taste with religious people. One of the most famous churches is called Basilica of the Holy Blood of Christ Since it stores the vessel in which the blood of Christ is being stored.

By the way, you can touch it - every day at 14:00 it is carried out to visitors and anyone can touch her. There is in the city and Church of Our Lady. (Her tower is the highest in all of Bruges). In the church, various works of art are stored, a special place among them is the statue of Michelangelo, depicting the virgin Mary with a baby. In addition, attention deserves and Cathedral of Christ the Savior and Jerusalem Church.

There are in the city and museums. One of the most famous museums of Bruges is Museum Groning which possesses an outstanding collection of painting. It keeps the largest collection of Flemish primitives in Belgium. In the museum there are pictures of Jan Van Eyka, Rogirah Van der Waiden, Memling and Bosch. Special place in the collection is occupied by the immigrants from Brugge. The museum is not very big, we went around for an hour and a half, at the same time did not hurry at all. In the last halls, modern painting is represented, honestly, we didn't like it at all (especially in comparison with the old pictures), but everyone has their own tastes - maybe it will have to taste. The entrance ticket to the museum costs 6 euros, however, it was sold for 5, because one of the so-called pearls collection - the picture of Bosch under the title "The Terrible Court" was partially on the restoration (only the lateral parts of the picture were present, there was no maintenance). We liked the museum, he did not take a lot of time, and the pictures really deserved attention.

Also in Brugge there Chocolate Museum, Archaeological Museum where you can see how people lived many centuries ago Lace Museum, Diamond Museum and some others. It should be borne in mind that museums are not very big, you can hardly spend more than an hour in each of them.

And finally, if you visit Brugge late spring, early in autumn or in summer, and the weather will be good, you can drive a boat through the canals Cities and admire the beauty of this city from the water. Unfortunately, we were in Brugge in January, the temperature was slightly higher than zero degrees, blew a rather strong wind and there were no walks through the channels - all the boats were covered, after all, there were no wishing to ride.
