There were a large company in Kazan in June 2014, there were only three days. Our journey has begun from the city of Vladimir, then the path followed through Chuvashi. In Cheboksary, there was very rainy weather, so the embankment was watched with one eye, bought souvenirs, lunch and drove further. TOTAL, 600 km overcame throughout the day.
By sights, I can note the following places to which the easiest way to get by car. I will not repeat, the main monuments on the site are already indicated.
And so, what else can I see in Kazan, except for his central streets?
1. The temple of all religions.

We traveled to the village of Old Arakchino solely on the navigator. However, running up closer, looking for the same structure did not have to: it hurts it bright and impressive. The idea in my opinion is extraordinary good: the architecture of the temple combines the features of architectural structures several religions. In the same building, the Byzantine motives are traced, the ancient-Russian bully dome, seeking the upstanding towers, who end with a characteristic Muslim crescent. It turns out the temple began to build 20 years ago. Architect Ildar Khanov tried to build a small world of harmony, uniting people of different religions and denominations under its roof, the world without war and pain.

2. Museum of Socialist Life.

A place that really needs to be visited in Kazan so that the trip is complete and unforgettable. The museum's creators came to the creators of the museum, to collect the subjects of Soviet life in one place. Everyone in the garage or in the attic, some unnecessary things from the nearby past, which are now rightly considered to be rare. It was these exhibits that were carefully collected by the Museum staff.
There are collected old toys: all sorts of Cheburashka and Olympic Bears, old coil tape recorders and cameras, pioneer clothing, bottles of Soviet cologne, in general, all the objects of life used by Soviet people. Remember the electronic game where the wolf catches the eggs? And there was not only such ... it seems to me that this museum will not leave anyone indifferent: the children learn a lot of new things from the life of the Great Power citizens, and someone will smell a tear from adults. I liked the museum, reminded very distant childhood. The idea of the museum is interesting: almost all things can be torn with their hands, try to play and taking pictures, apply clothes, capture yourself on the camera in a pioneer pilot.
The museum also contains a large collection of clothes and tools of well-known Pop and Rock performers. The exhibits of the museum are constantly replenished, you can buy something like a Soviet coin or a memorable icon.
3. Sviyazhsk.
The west of Kazan is a historic place that needs to be visited, since you have been in Kazan. Sviyazhsk was founded by order of Ivan the Terrible in 1551. Soon built "on the ambulance" City-Fortress participated in the siege of Kazan. Ivan the Terrible several times did attempts to take Kazan, who were not crowned with success. However, in 1552, thanks to the courage of Russian soldiers and a rebuilt fortress, which is in close proximity to Kazan, his campaign to the main Tatar city was finally crowned with success. Sviyazisk until recently was the island. But in 2009 they built a dam and the road to him, so now there can be easily hit on your own vehicle. Also before Sviyazhsk, you can get from the river port of Kazan, the time on the way is 2 hours.
At the moment, Sviyazhsk is a place that tourists are readily visited. The parking lot of cars and tourist buses is located at the bottom, and the intriguing city itself is located on the hill. Rise on the hill will have to be a fairly steep staircase. Souvenirs and magnificent images of a bird's-eye pool are sold in the city. Here you can visit several churches, some of them are currently restored.
In the city, a small number of modern houses, otherwise this place has retained the appearance of small cities of the 19th century.
In fact, with an independent visit, Sviyazhsk lacked a detailed story of a guide about its attractions. Partially lack of information managed to replenish only at home on the network.
And so, we managed to look at the first half of the day all the most interesting places of Kazan, at four o'clock in the afternoon we were headed to their homeland, Vladimir's glorious city, full of pleasant impressions.
