Piestany are considered the most popular spa resort of Slovakia. The infrastructure is very well developed here, tourists willingly go to the city and winter, and in the summer. But, of course, as in any other place, every season in Piestany has some nuances.
Winter
Thanks to climatic features, winter here is the most mild in Slovakia. In the city in the winter may not be snow. But in the vicinity of Piesthan there are low mountains, several tracks where you can go skiing. Especially good here Christmas fairs operating from the end of November to the end of December. Prices in winter are slightly lower than summer and spring, and tourists are slightly smaller - if not counting, of course, holidays.
Spring
Late spring is one of the best periods for relaxing in Piestany, when all nature blooms. However, prices for accommodation and services during this period are rising. And since Piestany - the resort is quite expensive by the standards of Slovakia, the difference with the autumn-winter period is obvious.
In summer
In the summer in Piestany, it is quite hot. However, the heat here is tolerated quite easily due to the abundance of water bodies and greens. The most serious minus of summer holiday is a large number of vacationers, especially in July and August. Not only Slovaks themselves, but also Austrians, Germans, Russians go to Piestany. Prices, respectively, are increasing for everything. For procedures and specialist doctors also queues.
In autumn
Early autumn is one of the best periods at this resort. First, thanks to the location, there is enough heat, a small amount of precipitation. Secondly, in the fall in Piestany, a large number of events and festivals are held, as well as holidays devoted to harvest.
In my opinion, in Piestany well at any time of the year, since the resort is primarily therapeutic, and the quality of treatment does not depend on the season. On the other hand, thanks to the location, it is very convenient to get from Piestany on excursions, both around the country and in neighboring countries, for example, in Austria or the Czech Republic. However, if there is a desire to visit Piestany precisely for the purpose of the excursion program, it is worth remembering that in late autumn, in winter and early spring some tourist routes, caves, fortresses and locks can be closed to visit.
