Karlovy Vary: failed idyll

How many enthusiastic reviews and loud "Akhs" I heard about the main Czech health resort - Karlovy Vary! Friends and colleagues who visited those regions, told about the miraculous strength of local mineral waters, colorful streets and attractive restaurants with impeccable national cuisine. With a twinkle in the eyes, they were shared by photographs and cartoon waffles with cinnamon, causing thinking about the trip to the paradise.

When the wind change still led me there, there was no limit to disappointment. Patus houses and expensive cafes, Puzzled Rousseau Tourist, elbow wrainking turns to sources, and even living statues-angels, collecting garbage bottles - all this dramatically dispelled with imaginary idyll.

What else do I remember Karlovy Vary? Mill column with fountains of different temperatures, taste and therapeutic purposes. Its massive marble supports, creating a corridor for a promenade, look very monumental. Gardens are sour cream with cute floral flower beds, fountains and neat alleys. The stories about Becherovka, whose secret ingredients are known only to three high-ranking plant workers. And the meeting with Arkady Arkanov just at the moment when the guide told about how often he rests here.

What did I bring from this trip? A set of luxurious crystal glasses serving me faith and truth. Missing expressions about the most expensive and tasteful dinner for all the time of my holiday in the adored Czech Republic. And firm confidence that in Karlovy Vary, I have nothing more to do.
