It so happened that I got to Crete with my mother, my husband worked and sent us two rest without him. Perhaps it was not reflected on the fact that I didn't like the island. Our hotel was in the center of Chersonssos. The biggest minus is the beaches, but rather the absence of a beach strip. Sun beds in one row are tight to each other, places instead of the beach concrete slabs.

With my husband, always take the car and inspect the sights yourself. This time I had to take excursions. The first is the Knos Palace, I would not advise, or for large lovers of Greek mythology. Second - Balos Bay. All would not, but not from the Heressosos, we held the main time on the bus. Those who were from Chania and Rethymno, of course, were not so tortured and therefore everyone liked.

The third is the island of Santorini. I always dreamed of seeing him. I am very sorry that we took a tour of the day, be sure to take with overnight. Amazing beauty island, but a lot of tourists, and so I want to stay on this island in silence and see all its beauty without fuss.

Crete seemed to me an expensive island, in any case, Chersonissos. In this case, there are bums and beggars and gypsies. The guides were told that rumors about the separation of Crete from Greece and recognizing independence, but people are intimidated by the Cyprus crisis. Apparently promotes it specifically, as Crete takes a huge number of tourists in the season.

Of course, this island is suitable for gourmets and lovers of delicious food. For the first time in Crete, I tried snails. They prepare them in a special recipe, in oil and rosemary. And at least at the hotel we had breakfasts and dinners, but in the evenings we tried to dinner in local restaurants and taverns. The Greeks are able and love to cook, huge portions and at the end of the meals bring a treat from the cook, dessert or fruit. We were in the second half of September, and constantly bought fruit. Sweet grapes and oranges that are unattractive outwardly, but incredibly sweet and juicy inside.

In the future, I would like to re-go to Crete, but it was in the city of Rethymnon and with a visit to Santorini for a longer period.
