When you come to the whole family in Bandung, even at least for the weekend, then definitely hear that this is not the best idea. Do not listen to anyone! Bandung is a very popular place and is very suitable for recreation with children. By the way, that this city is extremely loved by residents of other cities, including the capital, you will understand when you approach the city on Saturday morning - intensive movement and traffic jams. Basically, the city attracts its famous stores that are very popular among expatoves and Indonesians. If you want to avoid tedious traffic jams, go to the bandung by train. Please do not worry that the ride on the trip will be a nightmare. The trip, of course, are old, maybe the glass is cracked (not dangerous), but it's quite comfortable to go there (especially if the luxury wagon is chosen). Children like this trip will generally like it more than riding the car.
Trains are pretty clean, and you can still sit on the chairs opposite each other and play all the way. If the places are on four of you (well, to sit next to, at least) no, that is, it makes sense to just wait for the next train - the benefit of them go every couple of hours. In the luxury cars, a bunch of pleasant surprises, for example, there are waiters here, so you can order drinks and food.
While you will go from the station to the hotel, you will see this difference between the country's capital and the city (if you were already there, of course). Bandung is less urbanized than Jakarta, and such a change in the situation is very pleasant - the streets of the city are impressive and you, and your children with old Dutch buildings and a magnificent greens.
As for food, the traditional Indonesian cuisine will quite like your babies. Baby happily will learn to use chopsticks, it is always interesting. Yes, even if the local food your kids will not have to taste, in this city, full restaurants with Western cuisine, and, to the extreme, fast food restaurants.
If you are going to go shopping, remember that Bandung is a shopping capital of Indonesia, and the people come here for purchases from all over the country literally. So, learn the places where apparel for adults and children are sold, not to waste time in vain. At least, if you need very cheap clothes, you can go to start on Jeans Street or Cihampelas Street, where shops look very cool, and shopping will not be so tedious for children.
Another plus Bandung is that it is a great place for walking. Oddly enough, the sidewalks here are very decent, and therefore parents from the carriage will not be so difficult to move.
Of course, it is worth choosing a hotel that is focused on families with children: where there are family rooms, a children's corner or nanny services. You definitely do not regret it, although such a service is most often in hotels 4-5 *, which are respectively more expensive. In the busiest hotels, you will find such mini clubs for babies who will take kids on the clock- with soft toys, Indonesian musical instruments (for children, of course, something like our xylophone), all sorts of slides and so on.
