Wind from Borneo Island!

Anonim

Back in childhood, I first heard a song about the wind from Borneo Island, who never comes to us, I decided that I would definitely get on this magic island with southern sand and palm trees, full coconuts. It was not so difficult to carry out a dream: get to Kuala Lumpur, and from there a direct regular flight of Malaysian airlines to Kinabalu, the capital of the Malayse part of the island of Kalimantan, he is Borneo. The flight is short, but in the season of spring rains it may seem very extreme: our plane flew into a thunderstorm, so literally fell out of dense low clouds on the runway. However, the pilots to this, apparently, not get used to the masterfully.

Large 4 and 5-star resorts are located far from the city, so free shuttle service is sent to the airport. Our hotel was on the coast, north of the capital, there beaches cleaner and more. There are many accommodation options closer to Kota-Kinabalu and in the city itself, but there are almost all embankments stone, there are many ships, and on urban beaches is very crowded. Therefore, we settled in the resort at one and a half hours drive from the city, with a large green area, with a huge private beach and a golf course. The choice was completely satisfied - a complete shutdown from noise and fuss, enjoying tropical nature and practically complete solitude.

There was a minus in such remoteness. All life is in the city. There are numerous restaurants of national cuisine, fish markets, which are preparing the freshest seafood, fruit shops in which you can buy the most unimaginable tropical fruits. There are large shopping centers with brand stores of the average price category and permanent sales, boats are sent from the city on excursions to the islands with diving and snorkeling. We were to some extent tied to our hotel, because to overcome a long distance was often lazy: they had dinner and dinner were almost always there, they bought excursions at the hotel, although in the city they would have cost us much cheaper. One word, its pros and cons in each of the accommodation options on Borneo.

The island is very large, Malaysia divides him with Indonesia and Brunhem, we were only on the Malay part of it. Of the interests here, first of all, the sea and the jungle, on which they water eco-excursions, there are several national parks, a zoo, many places for diving and snorkeling. There was also a big desire to drive on an excursion with a rise to Mount Kinabalu, but did not dare: the experienced is told, hard and takes 2-3 days. In general, the rest is more relaxed than active. The sea is delighted warm, sand is gentle and small. What else is needed for happiness?))
