Caracas - the capital of Venezuela I used to see only in the TV shows. In the life of the city, I liked much more, here it seems to move from one cent to another!
On the first day they went to study historical sights near Bolivar Square, looked at the monument to the National Hero Simon Bolivar, towering in the center of Square. I really liked the Cathedral, erected in the 16th century. In it, the bodies of the parents of Bolivar are reached.
Nearby is an old building with the sacro de caraks museum, which contains objects of religion. Also on the square you can see the hall of the municipality built in the 17th century. On the first floor there is a Museum of Santana, where they learn everything about the history of Caracas in miniature copies. The chapel of the Holy Rose is adjacent to the building.
In general, in the vicinity of the square there are many vintage buildings - temples, museums. Ancient lovers here will be very interesting. You can visit the Park Central, which is called the Museums district. There are the National Gallery, the Museum of Fine Arts and the famous Theater Teresa Careno.
Next to these old buildings in Park-central, two high skyscrapers of 225 meters are towering - the highest in South America. On the 52nd floor of one of the towers there is an observation deck, from where the entire Caracas is visible, as on the palm.
But we advise young people to visit Sabana-Grande - the center of nightlife. Here is the mass of hotels, bars, discos, restaurants, shops.
And if you want to arrange a romantic walk - there are large beautiful parks of Los Cabos in Caracas, del Este with a zoo and planetarium and botanical gardens of the Central University of Venezuela.
We were delighted with the National Park Avila, which is located north of Caracas at the Avila Mountain Ridge. Here from the Metro Station Mariperza to the top of Al Avila runs the Knock Road "Teletherico", but you can also get on foot or on an embodied.
At the peak of El Avila there is an observation deck, from where you can admire the Caracas for hours and the coast of the Caribbean. It is better to go here in the first half of the day, because the haze appears in the evening, through which little is visible. In this park, almost 120 species of mammals, 20 species of amphibians, 30 types of reptiles, 1800 species of plants, 500 species of birds and about 100 types of butterflies. And if you want to stay here longer - there are several campgrounds in the park.
