I have always skeptically treated in Greece. It seemed to me that this was a too popular place to rest that there was dirt, a lot of tourists and there was absolutely nothing to look at the stones. But my opinion was fundamentally changed after an unforgettable vacation in Crete.
I will say right away that it makes no sense to fly to the island and relax exclusively on the beach, with the same success you can visit any near the sea located.
Crete is one of the largest islands in the Mediterranean Sea. Beach sandy, very developed infrastructure. Our hotel was not expensive, but comfortable, service at the highest level, even to complain about nothing.
For those who are complex because of the ignorance of the English language, I propose to stop worrying, as English in Crete does not know almost no one except the service personnel at the hotel and some cafes. But many speak Russian, which is surprising. And if you rise to the mountains, then there is exclusively Greek.
Sea on the Crete of Incredible Beauty !!!! Such a blue and turquoise of water I did not meet anywhere!
As for prices, everything is very expensive on the island. Even olives that grow on "every corner" is much more expensive than we, although they differ - much larger and tastier. Olive oil and cheese are also expensive. Prices in the cafe are acceptable, but here if you want to taste seafood, you will also have to lay out a round sum. We tried mollusks, and more from exotic risked try snails. Tasty, not disgusting.
It is the opinion that in Greece you can buy cheap and high-quality fur, but I didn't need it in the fur coat, so I didn't want to spend time on shopping.
We took the car for hire and decided to see the island from the inside. Greens are very small, mostly rocky terrain and mountains. In the mountains it is interesting, but in some places without special equipment and snorkels do not climb.
Very funny goats around the island. They graze in the most unexpected places. If you see a steep slope, then it is necessarily a goat. It is unthinkable as they climb there, but from there you have to go down and they do it easily.
In one day we visited the Knos Palace - this is the historic attraction of Crete. It is ruins, and before it was almost an administrative center around which the city of Knossos was located. Impressions from the tour - "very hot, rather it would end, where water ..."
I liked Crete, but, for a comfortable stay, there you need a lot of money, Panama and a bottle of water.
