Where to go shopping and what to buy in Paphos?

Anonim

As in any resort town, in Paphos, you can go shopping and buy both clothes and traditional Cypriot souvenirs.

Shopping centers

There are several large shopping centers in Paphos, from which we visited King Avenue Mall. Located near the port. This is a modern shopping center, which is located in a new two-story building. In addition to shops there is a cafe, a cinema, as well as a play area. The stamps presented there are mainly related to the average price category - all the well-known Zara, Bershka, Stradivarius and the like stores, but there are more expensive brands. There are in the TRC and several local brands, which we have no longer met anywhere. We were there in August, the range was not bad, and there were also quite large seasonal discounts, which in some stores achieved as much as 70 percent. To the undoubted advantages, I will assume that the clothes presented there still differs from the one that various models are brought into every country - so, even if you make purchases in the dawn, it is quite possible that in our Country You will not meet anyone in such clothes. Prices are slightly lower than in Russia, but the difference is not very significant. But on purchases from 50 euros, you can get a return tax (that is, Taks-Free), so buying can become very profitable. There were many people in the center, but we were there in the evening, about 7 hours, so the locals came there after work there. I believe that in the morning and the day of the people there is significantly less. In general, the TRC is very reminiscent of our, built in the same style, brands are mostly identical.

Souvenir shops

In the port on the embankment there is a huge number of souvenir shops. The range of among themselves is very similar - the same thing is for almost everywhere - these are straw caps, T-shirts with inscriptions Cyprus, T-shirts with fun inscriptions, slippers, children's toys, as well as a huge number of magnetics, cups, plates, mugs, pens and playing cards with Symbols of Cyprus. You decide to buy something like this or not. To be honest, all these stores have already been pretty fed up - in each country of the world the same thing, only inscriptions differ. Nevertheless, something can be found and there - I, for example, I bought myself a good neutral hat there without any inscriptions on it. Prices there are not particularly high, but the quality of the goods is not always at the height.

If you go to the port of Paphos from the bus station, then if you turn right, then you will find a large souvenir shop near the fortress (it is located in one huge hall), which offers a variety of facial and body products - all kinds of scrubs, masks, cream, Aromatic candles, soap and so on. Almost everywhere there are probes, so much you can try. It smells all this very tasty, we bought a body scrub there. A small spoon of tar for lovers of national flavor - the country of manufacture in most products - England. Nevertheless, if you like all sorts of pleasant and fragrant things - you can go there. There are also various decorations there, there are among them very cute.

If you want to save, then keep in mind that the closer the store is located to the embankment, the more expensive all products in it. The further he from tourist places is the cheaper. During the rest, we traveled for several excursions, during which we were brought to tourist villages to buy souvenirs - they were quite far from pathos, prices there were slightly lower (after all, no matter how the place is tourist). If you take a car for rent, then yourself will surely find places where all souvenirs will cost you much cheaper than in tourists visited by tourists.

What to bring from Cyprus

In addition to all known magnets, mugs and towels, each country has traditional souvenirs characteristic exclusively for this country. Cyprus can be brought Lefkar - These are laces, which are made by hand with Cypriot craftsmen. As a rule, you can buy a tablecloth, towels and the like. The price will be quite high, because it is handmade, however, in souvenir shops, it is still cheaper than, for example, at the airport.

One of the symbols of Cyprus is OSLIK So the figures in the form of these animals can also serve as a souvenir.

If you go with a tour of the monasteries of the island, then in souvenir shops in monasters you can buy icons, incense and everything that may need a believer person. Prices for icons are quite high, start on average with 30 euros, but there are really real works of art with luxurious salary. A certificate confirming that it can be taken from the island to each icon. Oddly enough for me, but such goods also applies tax tax - FRI, which we reported on the W guide.

Cyprus can also be brought souvenirs in the form of some traditional products. In souvenir shops, for example, sold Traditional Cypriot sweets (to them, by the way, it also belongs to Lukum, which is no different from the one that can be purchased in Turkey. This is due to the close relations of Cyprus with Turkey). National Cypriot Wine is called Commandary - This dessert wine is considered one of the best on the island. We bought several bottles to relatives and ourselves - on average bottle cost 12-15 euros.

Cyprus vodka - Uzo. Made on the basis of Anisa, is also sold in all stores. Exclusively in Cyprus and cheese Hallumi - This is a salty goat cheese that can be bought in souvenir shops and in ordinary supermarkets. To us, honestly, he did not like it very much - too salty, but relatives fell to taste. On the island, it is usually eaten not in the raw form, but fry in a skillet - you can try. Another traditionally Cypriot souvenir is Syrup of the horn tree - This is something rather viscous and sweet, more precisely, the taste is not described. Cypriots add it to many dishes, for example, watered them white bread. Immediately I will say - the taste of an amateur. Of course, in addition, olives and olive pasta can be brought from Cyprus.
