Gathering in Latvia, it should be borne in mind that it is still rather the northern country than southern, and the local climate is warm can be called with a large stretch. Many with some caution relate to rest in the Baltic States, considering dubious the possibility of rest under the warm sun. But I do not agree. Considering that the climate here is characterized as a transitional from the maritime to the continental, in Latvia, even reigns moderately cool weather throughout the year, but the summer is still able to give enough heat not only for pleasant walks or sunbathing, but also for swimming. The most pleasant months for rest, especially the beach, are undoubtedly July and August, when the average air temperature ranges from +18 to +23 ° C (it happens, and above, but it is not necessary to count on a special heat).

For excursions and active tourism, Mai and June (by the way, May in Latvia are the most sunny month in which rain rarely) and even September. During the rest of the time, rest can rehon with rather strong winds, rains or increased dampness. Yes, and the diversity of entertainment in the cities and in the resorts will not be like that, since the bulk of tourists attack Latvia in the summer. On my own experience, I would also note that even at the end of August you can hardly have a truly enjoy the beach holiday, the air and temperature of the water are already pretty cool, although it does not stop some bravery so it is better to go to the sun a little earlier - in the already mentioned July or exactly early August. At the same time, such weather is perfect for excursions, not tiring with heat and not causing negative emotions to dampness or penetrating cold. Thus, for traveling around the country, I would recommend that the end of August - the beginning of September and, of course, May.
True, justice for the sake of, it is worth noting that the proximity of the sea contributes to the fact that even in winter there are no strong cold, the temperature is rarely lowered below -2 - 7 ° C, but options, than not so much - except, of course, winter species Sports and hiking on Christmas sales).
