A few words about the sights of Georgetown:
Fort Cornwallis (Fort Cornwallis)
Initially built from palm trunks in 1786, after 20 years, Fort Cornvallis was deprived of bricks - you see this work today. In the territory of Fort at different times there were a warehouse for weapons, barracks, chapel, lighthouse, residential premises, shops and many other administrative buildings.
Today we can only see the chapel, the cellar, the lighthouse and several low buildings - it is difficult to imagine how so many people have once been placed and how life was boiling inside.
From the walls of the fort in the direction of the sea are watching guns. The biggest one (it is difficult to skip it, Rambai series) in the 17th century was initially a gift to the Dutch from Sultan Johor and transfered from hand to hand. Somehow, the gun turned out to be at the British, who, sailing past Penang, in a strange fear of madness just threw the gun overboard. In general, finally got it from the bottom and hoisted on this fortress. Local residents immediately awarded this gun with mythical forces and assured that the gun and brings goodness and fertility to the lands of the island.
In addition to these cannons, you will see a powder warehouse with gun nuclei and leggings of porch - a rather interesting place. Among other interesting objects, you can highlight the chapel in which several paintings have now hung and made a museum, and a huge lighthouse, an impressive structure that is strongly distinguished against the background of the low-storey complex. Also on the territory of the complex, but away from the water, there are several rooms that now also a museum complex where you can learn about the history of fort, archaeological finds, protection and preservation of historical buildings and other things.
Fort looks like always ready for battle, but it works only today as an administrative center.

Observation platform on Komtar Tower (Komtar Tower)
Enter the Komar tower and climb the elevator to the viewing platform, which is located at an altitude of 60 floors. The elevator will sweep a little less than 30 seconds. Alatas Said Mansion (Syed Alats Mansion)

Burmese Temple of Dhammaakaram and Wat Chay Mangalam (Dhammakarama Burmese Temple and Wat Chaiya Mangalaram Temple)
