Now a little more about the mountains in this area. Mount Gunung Mat Chinkang , near the Cove of Data, in a height of about 700 meters above sea level, and this is the second highest mountain after 850-meter Gunung Raya (Gunung Raya).
Mountain has long become the landmark of Langkavi and part of the Langkawi GeoPark reserve, which is under the protection of UNESCO. And this peak is part of the oldest geological formation in a country, which is about 500 million years.
On the cable car you can climb up this rock. Six people can fit in each of the 35 cabins. The cable car passes through three stations - one in Oriental Village, and the other two- on the grief itself. The cableway stretched out at a distance of 2 kilometers or a little more, and passes at an altitude of 680 meters.

According to the local folklore, Gunung Mat Chinkang, Gunung Paradise and another small peak, Bukit Savar, once were alive. And they all engaged in martial arts. According to legend, daughter Mat Cincang was engaged to the son of Paradise. But on the wedding day between two men there was a big quarrel, which turned into a fight. They began to throw in each other in frying pan and plates. Including, one of them launched a large pot of Carry, who was prepared for a wedding pyr. He fell on the spot on the island, which is now known as Belanga Pecah ("broken saucepan").
The sauce from the broken pot was leaked to the ground and the place was reached, where the city of QU (his name is translated as "sauce"), which later became the capital of Langkavi. Boiling water from another slide shedding above the place, which later nicknamed AIR HANGAT ("hot streams"), and the pot with round "ring" handles fell in Selat Cincin ("Strait of the Rings"), a strait that separates Langkavi from Thailand Island, Tarutao.
