Choosing a hotel for accommodation in Toulouse, first of all, you need to take into account your stay, the goal of arrival (vacation or transit with a brief inspection of the city) and a way of movement. So, if you arrived in the city directly for a long vacation or you plan to stay here at least a couple of days to see all the main sights and enjoy its colorful southern atmosphere, it is undoubtedly better to stay closer to the center. And in the event that you are traveling in France by train or flew to the country by plane and allocated only a day for an acquaintance with the city, and then you plan to go further, then it will be more convenient for something closer to the train station or the airport. As for prices and categories of hotels, they vary very much here, and with a large share of success, you can book a room in an expensive five-star hotel and get a cheap place in a community room in one of those popular recently hostels.
But let's stop at the most successful, from my point of view, options in more detail.
One of the most budget options can be overnight stays in the central part of the hostel La Petite Auberge de Saint-Sernin (17 Rue d'Embarthe).
There, only 22 euros, you can get a place in a community room, designed for 4 or 6 people with amenities on the floor, as well as the ability to enjoy a kitchenette with a fridge, stove and microwave, living room. The rooms are here, though general, but cleaner and neat, windows overlook the city park, to the main historical landmarks to submit, so it is not to be surprised that the lack of guests, especially young and especially in summer, is not here.
Cheap can also be stopped in apartments located nearby Appartement Saint Sernin. It also overlooks the historic part of the city, you can find a lot of interesting shops or restaurants in the neighborhood, and there is a pleasure of only 35 euros, so that this option can also afford to themselves.
On the opposite side of the river, but still in the city center, next to a picturesque green area, is also inexpensive Hôtel des jardins (9, Rue Laganne), offering its guests small and modestly furnished rooms with a private bathroom for 35 - 40 euros for two per day.

If you are traveling by car and in Toulouse passage, you can consider the option of overnight stay in the transit hotel Premiere Classe Toulouse Sesquières (1 Rue du Pole), located at the A620 motorway, next to the Siberian Lake, 5 km north of the city center.
