Alesund (or also Alesund) is located on the west coast of Norway.
The town is small, here lives hardly more than 40 thousand people, but very popular, firstly, thanks to her large port, and, secondly, perhaps, because it was built in the style of "AR Nouveau".
That is, at home and the structures of Aalesund - with smoother lines, rounded windows of windows, more glass and metal, everything is beautiful and artistically processed.
And the town, in fact, old. It was founded in the 10th century, and then it was a fish village. At the beginning of the last century, Alesund has almost completely burned down during a terrible fire and all the inhabitants remained literally without bed. So they decided to rebuild the city again, and since then it went, to refine. By the time, this ar-nouveau was very popular in Europe, so it was decided to build all at home in one style. Most of the houses of the city built between 1904 and 1907, and the German Kaisers sponsored all this beauty.
How the town looked to that terrible fire, you can see in Olesund Museum (We are looking for Rasmus Rønnebergs Gate 16).
You can also look into Center "Ar Nouveau" ("JugendStilsenteret" at Apotekergata 16) - There you will learn about how the buildings were built in this unusual style, and how the furniture and the decor of the indoor room looks like the same style.
This center is quite interesting, by the way.
It is located on three floors. Also in the center you can see the multimedia exhibitions, something like "AR-Nouveau and society, a dream and reality." There are also permanent exhibitions: "Crafts and architecture", "from ash in AR-Nouveau" and "Beautiful AR-Nouveau," where you learn about this style in Europe as a whole.
Also, the museum holds a series of cultural lectures, where topics relating to the era of "modern" in art in the broadest sense are discussed. The place is really interesting, I suppose, go exactly. Also, at the museum there is a shop where you can purchase porcelain products, blankets from 100% wool, books on art and modern style, postcards and local food. Look at the cafe where you can drink a cup of coffee, try the Norwegian waffles, the jam of local production and delicious homemade cakes. Oh yeah, try here a cake "Queen Maud Cake" and a chocolate cake. Children in this center will also be misfortune, for them there is a gaming room.
This center works on schedule: September - May: VT-VSK 11: 00-16: 00, Monday- closed (sometimes it works in May on Mondays for tourist groups). June, July and August: Every day: 10: 00-17: 00

In three kilometers west of Oleesund is located Atlantic Park (Atlanterhavsparken).
It is believed that this is one of the largest aquariums in the whole of Scandinavia. The park is located in the picturesque area of Tueneset, on the ocean, next to the park offers a truly fantastic view of the islands and a vast ocean. The park between Susha and the Sea was built in 1988. In the park you can learn more about the flora and fauna of fjords, as well as admire the inhabitants of the sea depths, which are simply floating in water and mustache, as they say, do not lead that they are observed behind them - water in the aquariums is pumped directly from the ocean.
If possible, visit this center at an hour of the day when the show feeding of fish and crabs are arranged for tourists. The park surrounds the terrain with pedestrian trails, in places for fishing, and there is a beach where you can swim or do diving.
From the center of Aalesund you can reach this center on almost any bus, or on the so-called aquarium bus (Aquarium Bus) or by taxi. Aquarium Bus works during the summer season (from May 1 to the end of August), you can sit at the bus stop near the Rådhuset Town Hall - from Monday to Saturday, the bus drives out there at 11, 12, 13 and 14 hours. From the park bus departures at 12.15, 13.15 and 14.15. The trip takes about 10 minutes. By the way, if you swim through Aalesund on a cruise, you can purchase Atlantic Sea Park Packag, which includes a shuttle service from the harbor and back + ticket to the park itself. There are such services 100 NOK for children (3-15 years old) and 200 NOK for adults. Although it is more profitable, of course, to get yourself.
On foot from the city center, too, can be reached. Iditi or Nedre Strandgate or KirkegaTa, then pass the SteinvågSbroa bridge and continue to go on the main street until you see a big sign with the inscription "Atlanterhavsparken", follow in Tueneset. The path will take about 40 minutes a leisurely step.
You can also go to the Ethnographic Open Sky Museum - Sunnmøre Museum (Sunnmøre Museum) which is located 4 kilometers east of Alesund, at Museumsvegen 1.
The museum area spread on 120 hectares. This museum was opened in 1931, and you can admire there with about 50 historical buildings, which existed in different periods of the history of the city - from the Middle Ages before the beginning of the 20th century. The most impressive tourists are the collection of Wiking boats used and for fishing, and for the transport of goods, people and animals.
Also on the territory of the museum you can see churches, household buildings, rural and fishing houses, which were once built in different areas of Norway.

If you are lucky, get to open events where children and adults are taught by various methods of crafts, cooking, you will even teach you to drag the networks in coastal waters or pricking firewood, in general, everything that I knew any resident of Norway in those times.
In addition, at the end of the 14th - at the beginning of the 15th year it is planned to open a new exhibition, where you can see the results of archaeological excavations in these territories.
Well, plus, there are various traditional events, holidays and festivals, to become a member of which, of course, will be very interesting.
