You can go to the Umag and even need! Especially I especially recommend hotels in Sol Melia (they are only near Umaga about eight), in particular Sol Stella, Sol Amphora, Sol Polynesia and Melia Istrian Village. This is precisely family hotels that create practically ideal conditions, especially for families with children from 8 months. Why exactly from such age? Because already such crumb parents can leave for free in the younger mini clubs, where they are engaged in children under 4 years old (club 4).
Mini clubs
In most countries for supervision for a child under four years old need to hire a nanny, which is troublesome and silent. This club has a separate room with four kindergartens, a kitchen where the left mixture is heated, drinks or other food, a chair for feeding the smallest and many toys, both indoors and on a closed veranda. In the club 4, you can play yourself with the child or leave it to the care of the personnel by specifying your contact phone number. I am glad and the time of work of the club 4: from 10:30 to 13:00, from 14:00 to 17:00 and from 20:00 to 22:00. Children in the club are so interesting that they do not always want to go to the water!
Senior children take to the club 8 (from 5 to 8 years old), club 13 (from 9 to 13 years old) and club 17 (from 14 to 17 years old). Each has its own room and adjacent territory, the most comfortable for children of the appropriate age, their own team of animators. Every few days the thematic evenings are held when the animators dress in pirates, superheroes or other costumes and spend contests, team games and sports competitions for children. Children are delicked, make them costumes from blanks (raincoats, hats), the territory is also decorated in the appropriate subject.
Entertainment on site
In addition to mini clubs on site there are several playgrounds with slides and swings, slot machines, an inflatable complex in a pebble lagoon and paid rides. Baby cots are provided free of charge, only a pre-reservation is needed. In the evenings in the amphitheater, a mini disco is carried out, every few days an additional show. We saw a couple of musicals supplied by the Animatimitators team: Lion King and High School. For a few days before the performance at the lunch break, you can be brushed as the actors train. I especially liked the king of Leo - we did not have such wonderful costumes in each theater. After speeches, children do not diverge for a long time, communicating with the animators, studying their outfits and photographing the memory. From time to time, invited stars come from: DJs, show of magical focus.
Restaurants and baby food
In restaurants there are various children's chairs for kids of different age, the food is varied, you can choose a lot for the child. Mediterranean cuisine is neutral, it does not sin with seasonings and is well suited to both adults and children. If you need baby mixtures, porridge or ready-made nutrition in jars, then you will find them even in the supermarket of the Condo on the territory, as well as the most necessary dishes. There are also products and toys, but prices are overstated. If the machine is under the side, then it is most profitable to drive to the Kaufland supermarket, which is literally 3-4 km.
Children's pools
On the territory of hotels there are usually at least one children's pool. On the total territory of Sol Stella, Sol Amphora and Melia Istrian Village on the coast itself built a whole zone of children's pools. It is fenced and in it only one input-out, which makes it easy to look after the child. In this zone there is a swimming pool for the smallest with two slides in the corners. Its depth is 20 cm, all sides are rounded, steps on slides with non-slip coating. Babies from 4-5 years old more attracts a pirate ship with a slide, standing in water (pool without sideboards with a oscillating depth of 0-30 cm). On the ship and next to it there are water guns and pistols that move and allow you to pour other children and parents. In addition to the pools there are a variety of water rides, which include from time to time: fountains, jets of water from the ground, arch with water blades, tipping bodies with water. And there is a special slippery track on which you can accelerate and go. Particularly dispersed stops the wall with a mat, located at the end of the track.
The large pool is filled with purified sea water and is built so that it can be divided into adult and children's zones. In the middle of a comfortable broad staircase leading to a part with a depth of 50-60 cm. Here the kids love to do during water aerobics while adults jump into the deep part of the pool. From a shallow area, outputs to most of the pool, where the depth gradually comes to 1.5 m, and on a small part, in a circle of which a "shop" is made from the tile, which is convenient to sit adults and convenient to play children. There is still an indoor pool, but in good weather he did not interest us, so I'm not sure if there is a children's zone there.
When is it better to go to rest with a child?
In Croatia as a whole and in Umag, in particular, the low season is May-June and September, and the main season in July-August. Seasonality is pronounced both weather and prices in hotels. In the low season of people in hotels at least, the mass arrival begins on June 15-20. In the high season, hotels and beaches are filled, the cities are buzzing from the influx of tourists, so it is not particularly convenient with children. We ourselves went to Croatia for several years in a row and got into wonderful weather, when the sun is no longer fries, and the sea is still good. Closer to mid-September, the weather begins to change, there are cool days, when it is better to go on a tour or cuts out a heated pool. This year it turned out to go in mid-June, and the weather was no worse. The only nuance is the instability of temperatures. In the first few days, the air was +33, the water + 25 + 26 - almost burned out of unusual, usually the protective creams did not use in such weather, and then it was necessary. Then the air temperature dropped to comfortable + 27 + 28, water is about +23. There were rains, basically late in the evening or at night, the morning all already drowned.
If you decide to risk and come in May, you may face not only with unforeseen weather, but also with the fact that most of the entertainment do not work yet. The same Waterpark Istland opened this year by mid-June.
My family and acquaintances are in love with Croatia at first sight and no longer want to return to Turkey or Egypt, where much hotter, and corrupts nutrition through the "All Inclusive" system.
