The climate on the west coast of Thailand and on the islands located a few tens of kilometers from the coast, has a winter holiday. When cold and snow reigns in the middle latitude countries, on the coast of the Andaman Sea - a quiet surface of turquoise water and a bright sun.
The year on the Islands of Phi-PCI can be divided into three seasons, each of which has very characteristic features:
1. From May to October in this region the rainy season. How much is the weather during this period not suitable for recreation? It's not the same for everybody. I once fell to the islands in July. It was my first visit to the archipelago, my delight was not borders! Miniature Islands with incredibly picturesque sheer cliffs, limestone formations in the form of sugar heads covered with greens. That is exactly what they appeared to me for the first time :) The cost in most hotels is very low. The night in the bungalow by the sea (on the east coast of the island of Phi Phi Don) cost only $ 10! However, in terms of entertainment, leisure activities and the general situation on the islands in the rainy season there are quite a few flaws:
- Shni go if not every day, then every other day. During the rest, small drizzling rains are possible.
- Because of the high air temperature and excessive humidification of the air on the islands "wet". Even if it does not rain, clothes are wet after 10-15 minutes. In such a climate, it was unavassed by my camera and a camera, packages and films helped.
- Frequent cyclones bring strong winds with them, storm, sometimes real hurricanes are rushed here. On long-term walks on a boat, snorkeling and diving with aqualung can only be forgotten if you do not consider yourself to extremal. The sea most of the time is very worried, no crystal transparency of its waters and speech can not be. In general, nature at this time has muted paints: a cloudy grayish sky, the greens are not so bright, a sea of muddy-sand color.
- Sometimes within a few days on the island you can only lie in a hammock under a canopy and read books. Rest is good for those who do not like to sunbathe and actively spend time.
2. From November to mid-February, the "high" season begins at Phi Phi. The amount of rains is significantly reduced (there are only short-term small rains, in no way affecting traveler plans). The sea becomes transparent, turquoise. Air warms up to +27 ... + 31 degrees. I believe that this period can be called perfect for rest, if you know some secrets of this holiday:
- Planning rest is most profitable to plan for mid-November or the end of January-February. At this time, the price of accommodation has not yet managed to get to the New Year's rates, the flow of tourists has not yet time to increase, the room in a good hotel is quite simple.
3. From February to April, Thai summer comes to the island. By local standards, all other periods of the year were not at all in the summer. But from the end of winter to the region comes in a heat, calm and 100% of sunny days. In the afternoon the air can warm up to +36 degrees, at night, the coolness should not wait too. Of course, for all, to whom such weather conditions for rest, this period of the year is great. You can save on accommodation, at the cost of excursions. Prices for hotels in hotels are decreasing compared with the previous season by 10 - 20%. In cafes and restaurants there are fewer tourists, spacious on the beaches. Although I can say on personal experience that despite my miniature, the island in any season is not filled with tourists "before refusal." Of course, if we talk about the central beach of the town in the north-west of the island, then in the high season there are always a lot of people. But Phi-Phi Don is able to surprise and absolutely deserted secluded beaches in the northeast of the island. Never seen a lot of holidaymakers and on the Long Beach beach in the bay in the southern part of the island.
