Answering the question about the feasibility of traveling tourists to Penza, I can say that I would not contribute this city to the list of "mandatory visits." If you like to travel in different beautiful places or you yourself live in some big city, it is unlikely that Penza can hardly surprise you with their landscapes and architecture. If you live too far from this city in a small and not particularly remarkable village, then in principle, probably, you will find something to do here and how to spend time.Our family, like many of our familiar, who crave diversity, but do not have time and sufficient opportunities for a worthy change of the situation, often visiting the penza. The purpose of such a journey is a banal desire to "change the picture". Therefore, the youth of our region, young families with children often use such an opportunity - for 1.5-2 hours by car to get to Penza and walk around the city.
For those who were not in this city, I can roughly describe the picture in general terms for greater understanding.
Pleasure zones in the city center
As in many Russian cities, the city center is the greatest value from the point of view of the traveler. Everything else is sleeping areas, where, it seems to me, there is nothing interesting. At least I can say for myself. With each new trip, I try to find information about where it should go, what to see, where to walk, but so far I have not found anything interesting for myself.
In the center of the city there are several places for walking, which we defined for yourself. These include the pedestrian street of Moscow, the embankment of the river Sura and the Central Park of Culture and Rest.
Moscow street is a spacious pedestrian zone, along which there are many cafes on the first floors of buildings (including the Madrid beloved by us, where you can have a good money for little money) and shops (mainly with clothing and shoes). On the same central street there is a square with a white house, as well as the Square with the only one in the city of Fontan (in any case, I did not see others). Moreover, the fountain itself remained here from Soviet times and looks terrible. But on the same area with the fountain there are two attractions - a clock with a cuckoo and a panel of their beer covers. Well, on one of the buildings from the end there is a huge thermometer who has not been working for a long time. How do you think it characterizes the city?
The embankment attracts mostly local residents, as in the summer in the shade of the trees there you can take a walk with children or sit with the company. And in obligatory, all newlyweds of cities come here to hang the castle on the railing and take a picture of about the "arrows." By the way, only this year noticed that the heads of the newlyweds began to hang anywhere, so they were spilled. And for giving the act of more romantics, a little away from the stela, a tree of love was installed, where to hang the castles are doubly pleasant.
I also note, the Moscow street with the Embankment connects the alley with benches and flower beds of various types and shapes on two sides. Pleasant, I must say, the place. Tearing from hiking, and we sat there relax. One of the beds is made in the form of a wicker machine, the name of the city and the year of its foundation is posted on the other colors, etc.
Well, the main entertainment for us is the park. It concentrates the main entertainment life for families with young children. Here and attractions for every taste, ice cream, and cafe, and children's animation on weekends. True, that I was surprised, so this is the fact that the entrance to the playground is paid. In our city, such entertainment is in general use and completely free. Well, as they say, the monastery does not go with his samovar in someone else's monastery. I had to pay 50 rubles for each child (and for the younger, to which 1.5 years, since he did not want to sit in a wheelchair, but wished to hang on a swing and ride with a tiny slide). The second disappointment was the absence of at least some fountain in the park. Therefore, I had to rub the children from the sand for a long time with wet napkins. In general, as we understood, in Penza with fountains tens.
Going out of the park this time we accidentally noticed the entrance to the Botanical Garden. But they were going to leave, so they did not have time to walk there. But for the future for myself, they put a tick that next time we go there for a walk, let's see what he was. The entrance is also paid there.

In general, Penza is a good city for one or two days there. You can go with your family, and with friends. But alone I would not come advised, most likely it will be boring. Although if you are a lover of shopping, then, in principle, you can come alone. In Penza, several shopping centers, plus the trademark street, so it is where and maybe something to buy.
